LBC cup 2009: AKK Design beat MK Super Kids

AKK DESIGN notched up their second straight win with a 73-47 demolition of MK Super Kids in the 45-years-old and above category of the LBC Cup last night at the Brunei Basketball Association court in Batu Bersurat.

Jojo Apat had a game-high 19 points for AKK Design and Romel Gallano poured in 11 points. On the other hand, Danny Faustino led MK Super Kids with 16 points and Teddy Carandang contributed 10 points.

Both teams were equally matched in the opening period with AKK Design taking a 18-10 lead heading into the second quarter. MK Super Kids stuck with their opponents with some good shooting and managed to reduce the deficit by one as they were down 20-27 going into halftime.

AKK Design, being a guest team in the tournament as they didn't have players aged 45 and above, shifted gears after the break as they had better stamina in comparison to their older opponents which led to the blowout victory. Read more...
