THE Brunei Barracudas are hoping to bounce back against the KL Dragons when they meet on Dec 9 at the Brunei Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

The Barracudas, who are languishing at the bottom of the standings with Thailand Tigers at 2-5, absorbed a 73-76 loss to the Dragons the last time they met and coach Bong Ramos wants his boys to avoid another setback.

"We've been practicing since we got back from Bangkok. I know we will be ready for the Dragons," said Ramos in a telephone interview with The Brunei Times yesterday.

The Dec 9 playdate will be the third time that the Barracudas and the Dragons are meeting. Ironically, Brunei won 94-76 in Kuala Lumpur last Oct 14 while the Dragons won last Oct 18 in Brunei.

"Our game against the Dragon is crucial. We want to get that win," said Ramos, who is banking on Reggie Larry to lead the team. The American sprained his left wrist during the game against the Tigers last Nov 14.

"Larry's wrist is okay now, he had enough rest so I can expect him to play well in our next game," said Ramos.

Meanwhile, the match between the Barracudas and the Philippine Patriots which was postponed last Oct 31 due to Typhoon Santi will be played on Dec 21 at the Fil Oil Flying V Arena in Manila.

In the only game contested on Saturday, Satria Muda BritAma defeated Thailand Tigers 77-71 at the BritAma Arena.

Nakiea Miller led Satria Muda with 27 points and 18 rebounds. He also added an impressive seven block shots to his name for the victory. Compatriot, Alex Hartman chipped in 19 points and nine assists.

Ratdech Kruatiwa topscored for the Tigers with 16 points while Ikenna Nwankwo posted 24 points and 20 rebounds for his double-double to a losing cause.

Satria Muda notched their fourth win against four losses to share the lead with Singapore Slingers with 12 points.

The Philippine Patriots are at second place with 11 points coming from five wins against one loss while the KL Dragons occupy third place with 10 points. They have three wins in seven games.
